Finishing this piece I did a satin stitch on the edge and free motion stitching all the blackened lines.

What fun I had and it's over, joy joy! Now to have fun with smaller pieces again.

These next pictures were taken indoors and I really think they came out too dark:
The top photo was taken in my sewing room ( with 8-4ft fluorescent lights) the bottom photo in another part of my house.

After drying and seeing how badly the fade came out I did more dyeing and probably made it too dark with the re-dyeing. After drying again the piece was still faded in spots and I retouched those spots with oil pastel sticks by Neopastel.

In the sunlight the colors are very vibrant:

I used Dye-na-Flow and Lumiere by Jacquard to dye this piece right out of the bottle and using a paint brush. With more outlining with the black and sprinkleing salt onto the dye this is what it looks like outdoors:
I really love the colors in this when wet but dry it's faded out badly.

2nd stage to Colors?

Loading the photos from the memory chip to my computer I named the file Colors so don't know if this is the name my piece will become?
This is outlining the drawing and a start.

Our group Fiber Art Fusion is doing a showing: Hope Show at the Art Place at Mountainview (

I started on another piece I hope reflects my inner spirit and will be well received as the other was really a dark piece and did not show any HOPE.

Starting another piece really gave me peace and the rightness of my being. Surely I finally found my place in the world?

I played around with drawing a design onto paper first then did my hand drawing onto silk. The dimensions are as follows: 26" at its highest point to 17" at its widest point.
