Antiquing Copper

The other day I went bead shopping, I picked up 4 strands of Blue Impression Jasper in varying sizes at Bead Dreams. I went to Bead by Design and got some liver of sulfur. After wire wrapping my beads I noticed a lot of scuffing on the stones and don't think I will be using the stones unless i can wire wrap without scratching them. I beleive the wire was a larger grade than the ones I have been using which makes it harder to work with in bending and wrapping.

I tried the sulfur on the copper and the color is outstounding. I am loving how it antiqued the copper. Here are the results.

Love that bracelet! It's gorgeous. When working with a softer stone you might like to try wrapping your pliers with blue painters tape. There is also a product that you can dip your pliers in too but that always sounds messy to me. I love my painters tape for so many things. Anyway, that might prevent the scuff marks on your stones.
